EX-PARAMORE DRUMMER REVEALS NEW SONG
Former Paramore drummer Zac Farro appears to be set to reveal his new musical efforts. AltPress.com says he's teamed up with musician Jason Clark to enter the song "Hide Your Eyes." Farro and Clark appear to be working under the name Tunnel. Their song can be heard online at soundcloud.com/tunnelmusic/hide-your-eyes.
Over the weekend, Paramore announced that Zac Farro and his brother, guitarist Josh Farro, had both left the band. The remaining members of the group say they contrive to stay on as Paramore. Neither Zac nor Josh Farro have made a public statement regarding their future musical plans.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD'S SOUNDWAVE CANCELLATION NOT DUE TO DRUMMER ISSUES
Avenged Sevenfold is denying that their rent with drummer MikePortnoy is why the grouping has pulled out of the Australian Soundwave Festival. Band manager Larry Jacobson told "LA Weekly's" "West Coast Sound" blog the timing of the two events is strictly coincidental. He explains, quote, "If you've read any of the public attacks by the promoter, you can probably figure out why the band had legitimate doubts they could run with him to be capable to put on the professional show their fans expect. They're not in Australia every day so each tour needs to be the better the ring has to offer." Jacobson added that the trade to a new drummer will not involve the Avenged Sevenfold's plans to pass up the "Nightmare After Christmas" North American trek in January and February. The trek is scheduled to get in Reading, Pennsylvania on January 20th.
GORILLAZ'S HIATUS OPENS Door FOR MORE BLUR
Gorillaz may be set for a nice hibernation next year, but Damon Albarn will remain active - and reportedly with his old band. "The Sun" reports that Blur is heading back into the studio early next year for what might end up being their first album together in more than a decade. The group reunited in 2009 to play UK festivals, and resurfaced again before this class with a new single for the Book Store Day promotion in April. A source tells the newspaper that while Blur has plans to introduce the studio, there's nothing concrete as to what they will do with the material that they record. The author also states that everyone enjoyed working on their course for Record Store Day, and they would have recorded more but Albarn had commitments to Gorillaz that pulled him away.
U2'S BONO GETS TV OFFER FROM OPRAH
U2's Bono just might be branching out into TV. Oprah Winfrey says she's invited the singer to connect the roll of talent she's lined up for her new cable channel, OWN. The media mogul tells "The New York Times" that she extended the whirl at a late dinner party, asking the Irish rocker if he'd like his own show. There's no discussion as to whether or not Bono has accepted. Bono already has a few different projects under way, including his influence with U2, his charitable efforts, and the Broadway show "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark." The high-tech musical has encountered a number of problems and delays on its way to opening night, and is now slated to establish its run at New York's Foxwoods Theater on February 7th. Bono's commitments with U2 next year include a world tour which will start in South Africa in February. The North American leg of trek will start in Mexico City on May 11th - the day after Bono's 51st birthday. U.S. dates start in Denver, Colorado on May 21st.

CAKE LOOKS AT THE Waste OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas may be a sentence of joy for most, but Cake vocalist John McCrea says the holiday gives him some concern. He says he's "not actually so into Christmas" because of all the blow the holiday generates. McCrea explains, quote, "I'm kind of overwhelmed by it because we make so much garbage. We make in the month of December 12 times the monthly tonnage of refuse in the one month of December. So it's like an entire class of refuse that the United States creates in December." The singer says he doesn't intend to be throwing a wet blanket on the holiday, but believes it's something to view this class when wrapping and packing up gifts.
DEFAULT SINGER SEES THE HOLIDAYS THROUGH SON'S EYES
Default singer Dallas Smith always looks ahead to the holidays, especially now that he's a father. The singer explains that he gets to love all the traditions of Christmas again, but from a dissimilar perspective. He notes, quote, "You get very unselfish about it, you know. You see how mad the kid is when you put out the milk and cookies for Santa and the reindeers and the carrot and stuff, and follow him go down there, and he's just amazed that person came down the chimney and ate the biscuit and, 'Oh my! Oh! Santa came!' you know. Kiss the stockings and stuff. It's, yeah, it's real cool." Smith has one child, a son named Carson.
PETER BJORN AND Can DISCUSS NEXT ALBUM
Peter Bjorn and Bathroom are second in the studio polishing off a new record. The band's sixth studio effort is expected early next year and drummer John Eriksson tells Spin.com, quote, "It's a pure pop rock album. We had a big meeting and asked each other, 'What can we do now after five albums?'" One of the things they did was run with an international producer for the 1st time, employing Per Sunding to superintend the record. Eriksson jokes, quote, "We needed somebody who can give us play differently, someone to recall to cover up the hard drive." The drummer adds that the band is almost ruined with the disc, which will admit a number of eleven tracks.
In describing the sound, Eriksson notes, quote, "We've sort of gone back to the beginning. It's like 'Back To The Future.'" Peter Bjorn and John's next album is their follow up to 2009's "Living Thing," which is slated for an early spring release.
AXL ROSE HAPPY WITH CURRENT GUNS N' ROSES
Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose says he's very happy with the current lineup of the band. He tells GulfNews.com he's really happy he doesn't take to be the taskmaster. The singer explains, quote, "For me, one of the truly cool things is I don't get to get on at everybody in the band. 'Hey, do this, do that,' you know, because they're excited. Everybody takes a certain amount of pride in what they do. Plus they all get on at each other near it anyway." Rose says his current bandmates give their all when performing and they're prone to staying and playing until they believe they've satisfied the crowd. He adds, quote, "It's form of like leaving to the gym or something, you know. You don't leave until you look like you're supposed to."
While Guns N' Roses might be devoted to giving their fans a quality show, the group hasn't quite nailed down the conception of a punctual concert. The band arrived late for their Leeds and Reading Festival appearances, and organizers had to cut their sets short when they started playing by the curfew. Fans in Ireland pelted Guns N' Roses with bottles at a picture in Dublin to demonstrate their unhappiness at having to look more than an hour for the ring to fill the leg after the opening act.
Yeah YEAH YEAHS TO Proceed WITH Side PROJECTS
Yeah Yeah Yeahs plan to stay on the sidelines a while longer. Guitarist Nick Zinner tells Spinner.com, quote, "We wish to consume time off and run on other projects, kind of just gather passion and admit our sentence in what we do." He says there's currently nothing in motion concerning the band's next album. Zinner notes his sentence of late has been spent making a guest appearance with Arcade Fire on "Saturday Night Live" and running on a new art book. His fourth collaboration with writer Zachary Lipez and graphic artist Stacy Wakefield is titled "Please Take Me Off The Guest List," and it's in stores now.
TOMMY LEE, EAGLES OF Death METAL LEAD "CALIFORNICATION" SOUNDTRACK
Tommy Lee and Eagles Of Death Metal lead an eclectic lineup of acts on the "Season 4: Music From The First Series Californication" soundtrack. Lee recorded a stripped down version of the Motley Crue classic "Home Sweet Home," while Eagles Of Death Metal offer up their embrace of Stealers Wheel's "Stuck In The Middle." Other acts on the soundtrack include Cracker, The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, Better Than Ezra, and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult, as good as Warren Zevon, Shooter Jennings & Hierophant, and Monster Magnet Vs. Adrian Young.
The record also features a triplet of tracks from Queens Of Dogtown, a lot on the evidence that features the character Becca Moody, played by actress Madeleine Martin. The set is fronted by actress-singer-model Zoe Kravitz - the girl of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet. Queens Of Dogtown cover Alice In Chains' "Would?," The Misfits' "Last Caress," and Skid Row's "I Think You." The "Season 4: Music From The First Series Californication" soundtrack will come in both CD and digital formats on January 11th.
